| Another
measure of IDEAglobals' importance within the industry
has been the firm's ability to attract the high caliber
expertise of Professor Doctor Helmut Schlesinger,
former president of the Bundesbank, Mr.Ng Kok Song,
Managing Director of the Government of Singapore Investment
Corporation. The
role of the IDEAglobal Advisory Board is twofold.
First, the board provides long-term guidance on markets
and economic trends to IDEAglobal's senior economists,
strengthening the depth and credibility of forecasts.
Second, and perhaps more importantly, through its
experience, contacts, and participation in IDEAglobal's
conferences, the board acts as a bridge between global
policy makers and the financial markets.
Helmut
Schlesinger
Professor Schlesinger joined IDEAglobal's advisory
board in May 1995. He was formerly the president of
the Deutsche Bundesbank and was chairman of the Central
Bank Council from 1991 to 1993. Prior to that, Professor
Schlesinger served in a variety of positions, including
head of the research and statistics department, member
of the board, and deputy president of the Deutsche
Bundesbank. He also served as deputy chairman of the
Central Bank Council, as well as a researcher at the
IFO Institute for Economic Research. Professor Schlesinger
received a doctorate in economics from the University
of Munich. He is currently a board member at the Bank
for International Settlements, a member of the supervisory
board of Metro, vice chairman of Foundation Finance,
and an economic advisor to the German finance ministry.
Ng
Kok Song
Mr. Ng, managing director of the Government of Singapore
Investment Corporation, joined the board in 1997.
At the GIC, Mr. Ng is responsible for global asset
allocation and global currency risk management, as
well as for the operations of the equities department,
bond department, foreign exchange unit, economics
department, and client services. He previously held
positions at the Monetary Authority of Singapore,
including director of the international department
and of the banking department.
